The Wausau Symphonic Band is excited to present their fall concert "Band Classics!" on Sunday, November 17th, under the direction of Dr. Patrick Lawrence. The concert takes place at 4pm in the First Presbyterian Church of Wausau (406 Grant Street).
The concert will include a variety of classic works, exploring the roots of the modern symphonic band. The audience will enjoy the lyrical flourish of Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Folk Song Suite" and Frank Erickson's "Air for Band", along with the toe-tapping grooves of Robert Russell Bennett's "Suite of Old American Dances". Get in the holiday mood with Tom Wallace's playful arrangement of "Midnight Sleighride" and immerse yourself in the majesty of Alfred Reed's "Russian Christmas Music". Finally, treat yourself as the band closes out its program to the classic marches of John Philip Sousa and Karl King.
