The Wausau Symphony & Band invites you to join the festivities at our ninth annual Picnic at the Pavilion concert! This free concert is a family-friendly event with food, raffle items, and live music, all taking place at the historic Rothschild Pavilion on Sunday, April 28 at 4pm.
The Wausau Symphonic Band, under the direction of Dr. Patrick Lawrence, will be performing a pops concert of film music. Selections will include familiar works by John Williams. The band will also be performing Andrew Boysen Jr.’s "Star Crossed" as a live soundtrack to the original comic-style animated video.
The Wausau Symphony Orchestra will be performing second, under the baton of Daniel Larson. The orchestra will be featuring works by American composers.
Admission is free: no tickets required! The Pizza Kiln will be catering the event, providing pizza, treats, and beverages for purchase. In addition, an item raffle will be held to help fundraise for the season’s expenses. Freewill donations will also be accepted.
This concert is supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
